Audi A5 tops contract leasing coupe poll

The latest research from the UK's biggest website for car leasing deals has concluded that the Audi A5 coupe has been voted the best in its class, by drivers.

ContractHireAndLeasing.com explained that after polling users of the top ten coupes on the website, the A5 coupe garnered 21 per cent of the vote, overcoming the BMW 3-Series coupe in second place with 19 per cent. The Volkswagen Scirocco was third with 12 per cent.

The website explained that the A5 coupe combines the practical dimensions of a saloon with "the raked body lines of a coupe", beating its own sister car, the TT, to the title due to its formidable combination of space, style, prestige and reputation.

Spokesperson for the website Richard Lawton said: "The Audi A5 has been widely praised since it was first launched and revisions to the range in 2009 only enhanced its appeal, and Audi is still reaping the rewards."

The poll result comes soon after the Audi R8 V10 Spyder was voted Drop Top of the Year by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers at the annual Scottish Car of the Year Awards.
