Skoda's Superb Estate has been awarded Best Family Car award at the Scottish Car of the Year Awards 2010, which was judged and hosted by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers on November 5th.

Skoda, and the Superb specifically, have been up for awards all year, including Top Gear's Best Luxury Car of the year as well as Auto Express Best Estate and Best Family Car of the year.

UK director Robert Hazelwood said of the awards: "We're delighted that the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers thinks as highly of the Superb as we do. It's a fantastic car which we feel is receiving the accolades it deserves."

Meanwhile, Audi was also up for a gong, claiming the Drop Top of the Year award for its R8 V10 Spyder. The convertible counterpart of the R8 Coupe was able to overcome competition from the Nissan 370Z and Volvo C70.

It, like the Superb, has already received many awards including a number of accolades at the World Car of the Year Awards, Auto Express New Car Awards, What Car? Awards, Top Gear Awards, MSN Car Awards and Business Car Awards.
