Endless carbon-clad supercars are all good, but once you've had your fill of the ultra-exclusive auto-exotica at this year's MPH The Prestige & Performance Motor Show powered by Shell V-Power featuring Top Gear Live, you might want to kickstart your tired eyes over on the Gumball 3000 stand.
Located at stands P54 and P60 (Earls Court) and P78 (NEC), you'd have to be wearing dangerously dark shades to miss 'em. From a mile away, shades or not, you'll spot the blindingly modified pulsating-pink Nissan Gloria. Owned by Dirty Sanchez legend-of-lunacy, Dan Joyce; this Gloria is a masterclass in nostalgic Japanese cruise styling. You might see one of these truly wild rides at an underground car-meet in Yokohama, Japan, but you won't find one in the UK, ever. Until now.
Also stacking-out the Gumball stand is a classic 1974 Ferrari Dino, the Honda Gumball drift car and a fully Gumball-liveried original Fiat 500. Just a tasty taste of the eclectic and cool to be running next year's Gumball 3000 road rally.
And if you fancy yourself as a bit of a Gumball Pilot but can't quite raise the £25,000 entry fee, fear not, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Hit the booth and ask the team about your chance to audition for a coveted place on the trip.
For the second year running, the Gumball 3000 team is asking rally fans to get involved in a worldwide competition to clinch one of just 120 spaces on the grid on next year's rally from London to Istanbul, alongside the superstars and supercars. All you have to do is record an upbeat, funky 1-minute film, selling yourself onto the Gumball. You can also upload entries via www.gumball.betsafe.com
I've been lucky enough to shoot a few Gumball rallies over the years and I can wholeheartedly recommend it as the road trip of your life. See you on the startline!
