Citroen has seized upon the mayor of London's announcement that all Euro 5 compliant cars emitting 100g/km CO2 or less will be able to enter the congestion charging zone for free from next year.

The marque stated that it was pleased to offer three efficient models that are eligible for the 100 per cent discount, saving London drivers £2,500 per year.

The DS3 DStyle 99g and brand new C3 Airdream+ are both powered by the company's 1.6HDi 90hp engine, while the C-Zero is a full-electric city car.

Linda Jackson, Citroen UK's managing director, said that the company was fully behind making "significant progress in reducing emissions" through every one of its cars.

She continued: "We are delighted London drivers will benefit from Citroen's low-CO2 conventionally powered and all-electric vehicles. Our models are proof that environmentally-conscious transport doesn't mean compromising on style, comfort or driver pleasure."

This month, Citroen unveiled the DS3 WRC, an all-new contender for the 2011 World Rally Championship.
