The Paris Motor Show had 1,263,467 visitors this year
The Paris Motor Show remains the motoring event with the highest attendance worldwide, it was revealed today.
Despite a number of issues including demonstrations, transport strikes and blockades to fuel storage facilities, the gathering saw no fewer than 1,263,467 visitors before it closed up for another year.
The Paris Motor Show had a record number of world premieres - totalling over 100 - while a vintage exhibition showcasing manufacturer heritage and a number of innovative events proved that the 2010 Paris Motor Show was a quality show to aid recovery in the sector.
Furthermore, the show had "bumper media coverage all over the world", organisers added, with over 13,000 journalists from 103 countries, 120 hours of TV and radio reports in France alone, and 5,000,000 hits on the Paris Motor Show website.
The event is a successor to the one the Automobile Club de France created in 1898, when it staged the first international automobile, cycle and sports show.
