Skoda sales are going from strength to strength, especially the more fuel-efficient GreenLine models
Skoda Auto has revealed that its dynamic growth curve continues with the brand selling 75,790 vehicles in September 2010 alone - in effect, the best-ever single month sales result for the company.
The firm increased its worldwide deliveries in the first nine months of 2010 by 12.8 per cent, pushing it to a total of 568,990 units. In the UK, registrations for the year to the end of September are up by 28% to over 32,500, claiming a two per cent market share in the process.
In Western Europe, Skoda deliveries jumped by 25.5 per cent; the Netherlands experienced a sales jump of 75.9 per cent compared to 2009, with more fuel-efficient GreenLine models proving particularly popular there.
Dr Winfried Vahland, chairman of the board of Skoda Auto, said: "With an attractive model range, Skoda has continued on its successful path during the third quarter of 2010.
"In light of the sales development to date and the record month of September, we are confident that we will sell significantly more vehicles this year than in 2009."
This month, Fifth Gear presenter Jonny Smith used the Skoda Fabia vRS to break seven national records for time taken to cover 5km, five miles, 10km, ten miles, 50km, 50 miles and 100km in its class.
