Honda has announced that it is committed to the 2011 British Touring Car Championship, entering two racing Honda Civics prepared by Team Dynamics.

Its popular hot hatch will compete in next year's championship as a full works entry, and trusts that it will continue a successful partnership with the West Midlands-based Team Dynamics, which helped Honda to win the 2010 manufacturers' title.

A new, more-powerful Honda Civic has been entered to meet the revised 2011 regulations, with the team combining with Neil Brown Engineering to develop a turbo-charged Honda engine.

David Hodgetts, the managing director of Honda, said: "After another positive year of racing, we are delighted to commit to the BTCC for 2011.

"Almost 90 per cent of the Honda cars we sell in this country are built in the UK, so we believe it's important to support a national championship. We can't wait to get back on track next year with another competitive Civic race car."

Honda recently continued its push to make new car ownership more affordable in the UK by extending its own range of offers through to the end of the year.
