New Ford Ranger pick-up
A new Ford Ranger pick-up, on sale later this year, makes its first public appearance in Europe at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
Designed in Australia and built in Thailand, the new one-tonne pick-up boasts a contemporary design inside and out.
Exterior design features include a large horizontal three-bar grille at the front, large headlamps which wrap around each front corner and bigger door mirrors for better visibility.
Henrik Nenzen, Ford of Europe's director of commercial vehicle marketing and sales, said: "The Ford Ranger nameplate is already established in more than 100 markets around the world.
"The new model delivers even more style, comfort and features, making it an ideal choice."
The new Ranger is available with ten paint choices, five of which are new: Highland Green, Winning Blue, Lagoon Blue, Copper Red and Desert Bronze.
The interior offers ergonomically crafted seats, climate control and MP3-compatible audio and a bodyshell engineered to isolate road noise from the cabin.
Customers will have a choice of four-wheel-drive or two-wheel-drive models, and three body styles - Regular Cab, Super Cab and Double Cab.
Powertrains available include fuel-efficient 2.5 and 3.0-litre TDCi turbo diesel engines with five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmissions. The new Ranger offers class-leading towing capability. With either the 2.5-litre or 3.0-litre TDCi Duratorq engine, loads of up to 3,000kg can be towed.
