Volvo to offer free safety inspections

Volvo is to offer its customers a free safety inspection to make sure their car's mechanical components are all up to scratch.

Usually costing £56, the inspection normally lasts about 40 minutes, providing a full test to check safety standards at the factory level.

The offer will be open to all Volvo drivers who own a car built after 1999, available now and running until December 31st, 2008.

The inspection involves checking and potentially upgrading a car's critical components and control units.

There is also a check of mechanical components and an explanation of all work required, plus the associated cost.
