Nice, the electric car company based in London, has warned customers not to wait for big name manufacturers to deliver on their all-electric car promises.

"It's easy to get caught up in talk of an electric car revolution," said Nice co-founder Evert Geurtsen.

"However, we'd be very surprised if many of the all-electric sports cars, and other models that have been making headlines, hit showrooms within forecast time frames."

Nice believes the London International Motor Show was ample evidence that the mainstream car companies have a long way to go before their promises are anything but empty.

There were very few concepts of production-ready models on the stands of the major car makers, for example.

Nice had concepts on display at the show's electric vehicle village (EVV) and a stand dedicated to showing off its all-electric line-up.

Its products include the MyCar, priced at £8,995, and the five-seat Ze-O family electric MPV, from £13,995.

As well as this, Nice has the four-seat Mega City, starting at £11,500. Apparently, drivers of this vehicle only pay two pence per mile, with no congestion charges, no road tax and parking concessions within London.
