Peugeot's new 407 range will include an SR model
Peugeot has revealed the 2009 iteration of its 407, complete with revised specification and a September 2008 release date.
A number of exterior and interior enhancements differentiate the new model from the previous one.
There is also the introduction of a new SR model to the range, a new HDi 140 diesel engine that produces 150 g/km of CO2 and a new RT5 satellite navigation system.
The new exterior design features a "more distinctive" look at the front, with a rear bumper now incorporating a diffuser style number-plate surround at the back.
Inside, the SE and GT models now feature a 'piano black' finish, applied to the door handle and air vent surrounds, and to the centre console.
The new 407 is available with a choice of four- and six-cylinder engines, including an update 2.0-litre HDi 140 engine with a six-speed manual gearbox.
An additive-enhanced diesel particulate filter system (FAP) is standard on all HDi diesel-powered 407s, following the introduction of the 1.6-litre HDi 110 FAP engine.
All Peugeot HDi engines, back to 1998, can operate on B30 (Biodiesel at a 30 per cent mixture). A new 2.0-litre 'Bioflex' engine operating on E85 fuel will also be available from November.
