This advertising campaign won an award, but I have to say it annoyed the hell out of me
Citroen has been celebrating receiving an award for its 'unmistakeably German' adverising campaign, which has been recognised at the 2008 Motor Trader awards.
This is the second time in four years that the Company has received the award, previously scooping top honours with its C4 Transformer advert.
The Teutonic tour de force beat off competition from the Ford Focus' 'beautifully arranged' and the VW Golf's 'enjoy the everyday' campaigns.
Curtis Hutchinson, editor of Motor Trader, said: "Citroën has delivered another memorable and witty campaign which breaks with traditional car advertising. The 'unmistakeably German' adverts are both original and innovative and have prompted car buyers to find out more about the car."
The award was collected by Ian Hughes, marketing director of Citroen UK, who said: "We're thrilled that this advert is attracting new customers to the brand who are looking for the qualities that they've been accustomed to in a well built, yet stylish, package. Dream and reality have met to produce a quality product which is appealing to a new audience."
