Skoda UK today announced a new pricing plan for the all-new Superb range, with a starting price of £15,490.

Trim levels will be comprised of S, SE and Elegance, marking a shift away from the badging of other Skoda models.

The Superb engine line-up is a mix of petrol and diesel units, catering for the needs of every type of customer. These include the new 1.4 TSI petrol engine, which offers a combination of greater fuel economy and low CO2 emissions, while delivering 125bhp in a smaller, lighter engine than previously offered.

There is also a new CR (Common Rail) diesel engine with 170 bhp, a combination of great fuel economy, low CO2 emissions and a smooth diesel performance.

Additionally, DSG gearboxes are on offer, with a six-speed DSG standard on the 3.6 V6 and optional with the 2.0 TDI engines. For the first time, Skoda will offer a new seven-speed DSG gearbox with the 1.8 TSI engine.

The new Superb offers significant interior space, with more rear leg room than even an S-class Mercedes. Not only is the space for driver and passengers substantial, the boot volume of 565 litres (with rear seats up) is class leading.

A large number of safety features are standard on the new Superb. All models have seven airbags: driver and passenger front and side airbags, curtain airbags and a driver's knee airbag.

Robert Hazelwood, Skoda UK brand director said: "The Superb offers Skoda's trademark value for money, interior spaciousness and engineering solutions designed with customers' needs in mind in a fantastic package.

"Beautifully designed both inside and out, the new Superb will make a great choice for retail and fleet buyers. In today's economic climate where value is king, the Superb offers a mainstream car that delivers value in every way.

"When I look at the pricing and equipment compared to Superb's competition, I am especially pleased. It's the right car for today's challenges and will underscore yet again that Skoda is, indeed, the manufacturer of happy drivers."

The Superb S trim starts at £15,490 OTR, with the SE beginning at £18,595 OTR and the Elegance at £21,075 OTR.
