Volvo has confirmed plans to unveil the production model of the XC60 at the Geneva Motor Show.

Following the successful debut of the Volvo XC60 Concept in Detroit in January 2007, the long-awaited Volvo XC60 production model is unveiled to the press on Tuesday March 4th 2008.

The public will be able to view the vehicle when the show proper begins on March 6th, running until the 16th.

The crossover vehicle integrates both the XC-versatility and the sporty style of a coupe and takes Volvo into a new segment.

First pictures and reviews of the car are expected on Wednesday February 20th.

It is thought the new XC60 provides an indication of a new styling and design direction for upcoming Volvo vehicles.

It includes a glass roof and a newly styled grille, with a much larger Volvo symbol, new shifting mechanism, mechanical tail gate, and 20 inch rims.
