Skoda Superb details confirmed
The new Skoda Superb, successor to Skoda auto's existing flagship, the Octavia, will be premiered at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
The show takes place from March 6th in the Swiss city and will attract exhibitors from around the world.
Among them will be Skoda, which promises their new vehicle is packed with new design elements, smart technological solutions and new engines.
Three petrol and three diesel engines will be available for the company's new model, ranging from 105bhp to 260bhp, and, along with manual transmissions, the choices will include automatic DSG transmissions and the newest generation of the Haldex four-wheel drive system.
The petrol engine portfolio includes the all-new four-cylinder 1.4 TSI (125bhp), the 1.8 TSI (160bhp ) and the brand new 3.6 FSI V6 (260bhp) - all of which are equipped with a direct injection system to reduce fuel consumption and improve the engines' environmental parameters.
The diesel engine portfolio includes 1.9 TDI PD (105bhp), 2.0 TDI PD DPF (140bhp) and the all-new 2.0 TDI CR DPF (170 bhp) with common rail injection.
All models are equipped with the company's new adaptive frontlight system, which changes the geometry of the headlamp beam and adapts the lighting in front of the vehicle to suit different driving conditions, as well as a DVD based navigation system with touch-screen interface and a hard disk to store music on.
