Mika marks Fiat 500 launch

Pop star Mika is to headline the celebrations marking the launch of the new Fiat 500 in the UK.

As previously announced on totallymotor.co.uk, the new model will be launched at a glitzy event on the banks of the Thames on Monday January 21st at 8:00pm - exactly 500 hours into the new year.

And now it has been confirmed the Grammy-nominated singer will add a touch of showbiz flair to proceedings.

The 24-year-old singer will perform hits from his million selling album Life in Cartoon Motion, which was the second biggest selling album of 2007.

"We are delighted that an artist as popular and successful as Mika will headline the UK launch of our award-winning Fiat 500," said Fiat UK marketing director Elena Bernardelli.

As part of proceedings the new car will take a flight in a capsule on the London Eye and remain 'airborne' for two weeks.

Huge expectation awaits the launch after the car was awarded the European Car of the Year 2008 award in December.
