Skoda Superb teaser shot released
Skoda has released the first teaser shot of its new top of the range model.
Set for release at the 2008 Geneva motor show, the Skoda Superb will replace the Skoda Octavia as the organisations flagship model.
The Czech manufacturer hopes the new vehicle will appeal to a more premium buyer than its current range, moving the organisation into the luxury segment of the market.
It is based on the chassis architecture of the Volkswagen Passat, and will also feature a touch-screen information and control panel.
Petrol engines for the Skoda are likely to include three VW TSI units; a 138bhp 1.4-litre, and 158bhp and 200bhp 1.8-litre versions.
Prices are likely to range from £15,000 for the 1.4 TSI, up to £23,000 for the range-topping model when it is released in late 2008.
Skoda hopes to sell around 4,000 of the new car each year.
