Mitsubishi Concept-RA to be unveiled at NAIAS

Mitsubishi will reveal its new Concept-RA to the world at the 2008 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).

The new vehicle is diesel powered and mixes some of the key attributes of existing Mitsubishis, including a passion for dynamic driving, stunning design and a heightened sensitivity for the environment.

Featuring the S-AWC vehicle dynamics control system driveline with active steering and active suspension control, the car also has the twin clutch SST first used in the Lancer Evolution X.

S-AWC integrally manages all of these systems to create advanced levels of control over drive torque and braking, thereby upgrading traction, cornering and vehicle stability.

In all this adds up to intuitive, on-demand vehicle behaviour which faithfully reflects driver intent under all driving conditions, from everyday use to emergency avoidance situations.

Powered by a low-emission 2.2-litre 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve turbo diesel engine, the Concept-RA will also have the Mitsubishi Innovative Valve lift & timing Electronic Control system.

Finally, to save weight and improve the car's ability to withstand impacts it will have a body structure made from aluminium.

The show will take place in Detroit between Saturday 19th January and Sunday 27th January 2008.
