Lamborghini's new supercar the Reventón is "L'Automobile più Bella del Mondo" (The Word's most Beautiful Automobile).
Now in its fifth year, the L'Automobile più Bella del Mondo awards may not be as well known as some of the larger international titles, but have developed a keen eye for innovative quality in their short history.
The Lamborghini Reventón took the award for in the category for special production cars, after its presentation at the Frankfurt Auto Show earlier this year.
Only 20 of the cars will ever be produced, costing over a £500,000 each - all of which have already been sold.
The judges praised the car's extreme, consistent, sharp-edged styling - inspired by modern aeronautics - calling it a true work of art.
This year's panel was headed by arts critic Bruno Alfieri and included artists, architects, designers, art critics and historians.
Winner of this year's European Car of the Year award, the Fiat 500, took the award for most beautiful city car, while the Bravo was the best-looking hatchback.
The Mercedes' C-class was elected best sedan, while the Lexus LS600H was the best luxury vehicle.
The Aston Martin DBS was the most beautiful sports car.
