Renault launches new Laguna hatchback model

Renault has released the new Laguna hatchback to the public today.

Prices for the vehicle range from £15,990 for the entry level model, up to £23,400 for an Initiale version of the car.

The Initiale version is available to order now but will not, however, be on sale before 2008.

The new Laguna 2.0 dCi 150 Dynamique has made a good early impression among analysts, who have praised the new car for its well-appointed interior, feeling of quality and overall levels of refinement.

It also has an impressive residual value forecast, some 31.1 per cent over three years or 60,000 miles.

This represents an increase of 7.2 per cent on the previous Laguna models and is one per cent better than the rival Ford model, the Mondeo 2.0 TDCi 140 Zetec.

Insurance ratings for the car are also up two groups, from 7E to 11E - making it cheaper to insure.

The new Laguna also comes with a standard three-year or 30,000-mile warranty (with the first two years of the warranty having unlimited mileage).
