Audi range update: New A5 launched
Audi has ramped up its range with a new A5 this week.
The first vehicle to be powered by a newly designed four cylinder engine - previously found in A3, A4, A6 and TT models - the A5 1.8 TFSI will be available from late November, costing from £26,190.
The A5 combines power enhancing turbo charging with fuel-rationing FSI direct petrol injection to produce 170PS at 4,800rpm and the new set-up also produces a 250Nm torque peak at from 1,500rpm through to 4,800rpm.
The six-speed manual transmission machine reaches 62 mph in just 8.4 seconds, and has a top speed of 140 mph.
However, despite these statistics the car achieves a respectable 39.8mpg.
An extensive range of extras are also available, including leather-upholstery, advanced three-zone climate control and rear acoustic parking sensors.
Some models also come equipped with an electromechanical parking brake.
Some optional extras include LED daytime running lamps (£775) or a sports version with larger 18-inch wheels, sports seats and lowered suspension (£950) as well as a 505-watt, 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system (£525).
