Here's some more modified car fun from the SEMA show in Las Vegas, this time inspired by our Far Eastern friends; the hardcore Japanese street and track racers.

There's a whole styling (and performance) trend known to tuners and modifiers all over the world as 'Jap-style' - Japanese cars modified and styled with Japanese aftermarket parts, to look like the modified cars built by the legendary tuners of Japan.

And even though America is officially the home of the muscle car there's still a huge Japanese scene to be seen, so here's our and nice and exclusive TotallyMotor images of the razor-edged racers. Expect sharp aero bodykits, smaller capacity forced induction engines and bags of aggression.

The NSX; Honda's 1990s take on the supercar with the original price tag and performance to match. Powered by a
270bhp, 3-litre V6 VTEC engine and attributing much of its 1350kg light-weight to the then revolutionary use of an
all-aluminium monocoque body and extruded aluminium alloy frame, this mid-engine'd track specialist is still a
great car today, perhaps thanks to Ayrton Senna's help during the development. This SEMA special enjoys the
added attitude of a cut 'n' slashed Japanese Touring Car-style wide-arch bodykit

Next up is this deadly-looking, shark-grey Toyota Supra, lurking with no mean amount of menace in the outside
display area at SEMA. One the favourite tuner cars of all time with so much power extracted from the legendary 3-litre,
turbocharged straight-6 engine, no modified car show would be complete without some serious Supras. Stand out
additions to this example of Japanese tuning culture are the ultra-expensive billet aluminium, 3-piece wheels from
American firm, HRE. Jap-style, American twist

If the Supra is one of the favourite tuner cars, then the Nissan Skyline range has to be the favourite. Again a
silky-smooth, turbocharged straight-6 engine, but 2.6-litres in this case, and in some instances bhp levels boosted
to in excess of 1500bhp for drag racing applications. Just an incredible engine. And this Skyline R34 GT-R with its
subtle bodywork modifications, sharky-grey paint and same-as-the-Supra HRE deep-dish billet wheels, really
looks the business

Looking pretty in shocking pink is the last of our Jap-style highlights; this Toyota Corolla AE86. If the Skyline is a
tuner's favourite, then the rear-wheel-drive, front engine'd, light-weight and well-balanced Corolla AE86, is the driver's
favourite. With a revvy, 1.6-litre 4-cylinder engine, developed with Yamaha, making around 120bhp and that
flickable chassis, the Corolla AE86 variant has thousands of fans all over the world. This SEMA show car built to
drift - the art of driving through bends in sideways control - sports a mixture of Japanese bodykits and Manga-style
graphics
