VW Amarok

The new Amarok is VW's first foray into the truck market, and coming from a truck-lover, I have to say it does many truck-tasks very well indeed. Shot here nice and dirty; the way it should be!

Pluggin’ the mud in VW’s first ever truck; the Amarok. It’s a seriously impressive piece of off-road kit but also does surprisingly well (for a truck) on the road. Packing the latest in torque-laden yet frugal twin-turbo-diesel power, clever climb and descent electronics and some serious road-presence. It also had plenty of interior space. VW are very late to the truck market with the Amarok, but it’s a strong entry. Full on- and off-road test to follow.

In fact, this week, there’s been plenty of VW action here at TotallyMotor and we’ve got a good stack of VW’s latest, finest and fastest driven, tested and photographed (with aeroplanes in the background!) for your delectation and enjoyment coming up on TotallyMotor. So keep ‘em peeled.

First up is one of VW’s most popular ever cars with over 15 million sold worldwide. It’s the seventh generation Passat with a sharp new face, wide range of new and frugal engines and calm, relaxed road manners. Some say it’s a little too quiet on the styling front, but what say you? Test drive: VW Passat Estate SE BlueMotion 2.0-litre TDI 140PS 6-speed manual.
